Thunderbird Extension for resizing image attachments

Sunday, September 25th, 2005

What I am really missing is a extension for creating small jpeg attachments by dropping some big jpeg files at a new message.
I think of a simple options dialog to turn that feature on or off and to set the prefered size (resize to fit into bounding-box: width x height pixel) and the prefered jpeg quality. There also could be an option to keep or remove metadata (e.g. exif information).

I am sure there are many people out there looking for a feature like that.

A simple way to add an image that is stored in the clipboard as image-attachment (!) would be really useful, too.

Avid-Free-DV: My solution for my ADM_WAVE_MIXER_OPEN_ERROR problem

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

Avid Free DV 1.6.1 is a freeware program. I tried the windows version of Avid Free DV 1.6.1 today. After starting the program I got a message box with the following content: Exception: ADM\_WAVE\_MIXER\_OPEN\_ERROR.
On the web I only found the recommendation to use a soundblaster sound-card.
There was also a user with a soundblaster card reporting this problem.
He mentioned that he has a onboard-soundcard, too.

So thought: Maybe Avid’s FreeDV has a problem with systems that have more than one audio device.

I disabled my second sound-device (a bluetooth audio device-driver).
With only one active audio-device it worked well.

DV-Audio-Compatibility between Canon MV-200 and Sony-TRV22-E

Friday, May 6th, 2005

I experienced problems when I tryed to play back a mini-dv-tape with my Sony-TRV22-E.
The recording was done with a Canon MV-200 using 16-bit audio.
Any ideas?
